Hosting the Stake Youth Career Exploration

Inspired by the church’s emphasis on self-reliance and requests from the Youth, the New Portage Branch is hosting a stake YM/YW and Young Adult Career Exploration activity April 21. at the Tallmadge Stake Center from 2-4 p.m. The activity will include Mathew Wilson, President of the University of Akron as a Keynote Speaker and will also include presenters and leading professionals who have generously donated their time to share insights and experiences gained from many leading organizations including Akron University, Ohio State University, Apple Inc., Four Cities Compact, and many more. The activity will provide sessions where the youth may choose areas of interest and learn about the following:
- Scholarships and Financial Aid
- College Athletics
- Trade and Technical Careers
- and Military Careers
Representatives for many different careers will present information including:
- Medical
- Nursing
- Law
- Engineering
- Law Enforcement
- Dental
- Computer Science
- Entrepreneurship
- and more!
In addition, there will be career counseling for those who just want to explore career areas and need tools to make decisions for the future.
Please encourage all your young men, young women, and young adults to attend this activity.
