Ward Window: Tallmadge

By Bishop Kumen Call

It’s been a busy start to 2018 in the Tallmadge ward. Highlighted by our first quarter ward temple trip, a ward challenge to memorize “The Living Christ”, combining with the Pilgrim United Church of Christ to serve dinner to those in need, and the great blessing of sustaining our new Prophet, President Russell M. Nelson.

Ward Temple Trip:

We were blessed to be joined in our quarterly ward temple trip by several new converts who were going to the temple for the first time to perform proxy baptisms.  As a ward, we have found great strength in attending the temple together, and although we can’t all go at the same time, we can all serve and encourage our ward family to prepare for the blessings of attending the temple.  As we return from serving in the temple, we find greater strength and resolve to help everyone set a goal to attend the temple themselves.

Memorization Challenge:

As a ward, we accepted the challenge to memorize “The Living Christ, the Testimony of the Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” in preparation for General Conference.  We found great blessings, and pearls of knowledge, as we tested our memorization skills.

Inter-faith Team-up:

The High Priests Group joined with the Pilgrim United Church of Christ (PUCC) to serve food to those in need at the PUCC church building in Cuyahoga Falls.  Lives were blessed, and friends were made.

The quarter culminated as we sustained our new Prophet, President Nelson, during General Conference.  What a blessing to know that the Lord leads His church through such a great man.  We love and sustain our new prophet!
