Why Does Family History Matter
by Jeanne Peugh, Director
Family History Work requires our time and dedication to find our ancestors. Is it worth it? The answer is yes. There are lessons to learn, heritage to be attained and salvation to be earned. History is all around us, we studied it in school, and we learned how America was blessed by those who wanted to know more. Are your ancestors part of that legacy? Have you found them? Do you know them? Do you know what sacrifices they made to come here? You are here because of them, they want you to find them, and they want you to give them the same joy you have. As Paul says concerning the fathers “that they without us cannot be made perfect – neither can we without our dead be made perfect.” Family History is a tremendous, yet wonderful responsibility because we have God on our side as we seek out our family members and go to the temple. Mark your calendars for October 19 and participate in the Family History Fair, “Unlock the Past.”
