Every month we will be spotlighting a JustServe opportunity in various areas of our Stake. This month is OPEN M.
OPEN M is in Akron and provides an excellent opportunity to serve.
The mission of OPEN M, a Christian ministry, is to provide pathways out of poverty by feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, and strengthening the community.
You can serve by doing the following;
Emergency Food Pantry: Package and distribute food bags; M-Th 9 am – 2 pm (pick one day); weekly commitment required.
Mountain of Food: Package and distribute 20,000lbs+ of food on the 3rd Friday of each month from 7:30 – 11:30 am.
Hot Lunch: Provide, cook and serve a hot lunch to 100 – 200 people. Hot Lunch is served during the last two weeks of each month from 10 am – 2 pm (choose one day a month). Ideal for groups of 8 – 12 people.
Community Garden: Assist in the planning, planting, and maintenance of our “Lettuce Give Thanks Community Garden.”
