Ohio LDS Music Conference: Honoring Christ

On Saturday, September 7 from 8-4:30 the 8th Annual Ohio LDS Music Conference  will be held at the Columbus Ohio Stake Center, Galloway, Ohio.  The purpose of the Conference is to make better musicians. In general, musicians who are well-trained, greatly-experienced, and/or remarkably-talented are the instructors.  They teach skills that promote immediate growth, rather than philosophizing. Organists, pianists, congregational conductors (including Primary Music Leaders), choir directors, ward and stake leaders over music programs, as well as composers, arrangers and lyricists, are our target audiences.

ChristThis year our theme, “Honoring Christ”, has changed some of our customary offerings.  Among the changes are the inclusion of the 3 p.m. temple endowment session.  The Columbus Ohio Temple is 15 minutes from our new location.

Nine acts of entertainment, each from a different genre (classical, pop, jazz, Broadway, novelty, etc.), will be featured during lunch. Sacred music will be performed in the opening session, with a keynote speaker to be announced in July.

At 8 a.m., we are serving a light breakfast.  Those who register early will receive a free sack lunch.  For more detail on the location, schedule, instructors, entertainers, classes, etc., go to ohldsmusic.org
