On Saturday, October 10th, the Stake Relief Society will host a “I Walk By Faith” morning of service and fellowship. There will be a Temple Dress Exchange as well as a service project to help the Akron Children’s Hospital Food Farmacy. All Sisters are encouraged to attend.
Akron Children’s Hospital is also asking us to donate some of the following items that would greatly benefit them. They also have volunteer opportunities as well. You can bring the items with you on the 10th.
Here is a list of requested items and volunteer opportunities:
Feminine Hygiene Products:
- Pads (~30 count boxes)
- Tampons (~30 count boxes)
- Detergent – Sensitive skin or baby & must be liquid — NO pods; 45.5 fl oz
- Baby wipes – 60 wipe count per pack
- Disinfectant wipes – 80 wipe count per canister
Diapers:
- Sizes 2 through 4T/5T
- 15 – 20 diaper count for the size of box
- Toothpaste – child or adult brand, not travel size
- Child shampoo/body wash — 3-in-1 options are nice
- Lotion for Sensitive skin
Volunteer Information:
- Shifts currently needed in the Food Farmacy:
- Tuesday, Thursday, Fridays from 9 am – 12 pm
- Fridays, Mondays from 12 – 4 pm
Letters of Encouragement: We accept general letters of encouragement for our patients. We ask that they just be cards, no envelopes, or that the envelopes are not sealed. It was suggested that they include colorful cards with art (hand drawn and/or colored pictures works too) as most of our patients are unable to read. So, the messages should be short and sweet.
